President: Susan Taylor is an Assistant Attorney General in the Environmental Protection Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General where she represents New York State in affirmative and defensive environmental litigation. After graduating magna cum laude from Brooklyn Law School, Ms. Taylor served as a law clerk to the Honorable Carol Bagley Amon, United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and the Honorable Francis X. Altimari, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She moved to the Capital District in 1996 and practiced environmental and energy law at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, LLP and Cohen, Dax & Koenig, PC. She has been a member of the Capital District Women’s Bar Association since 1997 and a member of the Board since 2004. Ms. Taylor lives in Sand Lake with her husband and three daughters.

President Elect: Joann Sternheimer is a partner with the law firm of Deily, Mooney & Glastetter, LLP. She graduated from Union College in 1987 and received her law degree from Rutgers Law School in 1993. Ms. Sternheimer was law clerk to the Hon. William F. Tuohey, U.S.B.J. DNJ. After practicing in New Jersey, Ms. Sternheimer returned to Albany as an associate at Deily, Mooney & Glastetter, LLP and became a partner in 2005. Ms. Sternheimer represents creditors, defendants and bankruptcy trustees in bankruptcy litigation. She counsels lenders and borrowers in commercial loan transactions, negotiating and documenting working capital and term loans, and represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation including all phases of workout and debt restructuring matters. Ms. Sternheimer is the recipient of the Legal Project's 2005 Kurt Clobridge Award and the CDWBA's 2007 Pro Bono Award.

1st Vice President: Susanne Dolin is a senior attorney in the Office of Legal Affairs of the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. Ms. Dolin has presented at CLE programs on issues of medical support enforcement, ethics for child support attorneys, bankruptcy law and QDROs. Ms. Dolin previously worked for the law firm of Deily, Mooney & Glastetter, LLP in Albany. She commenced her legal career as a litigation associate with the Albany law firm of DeGraff, Foy, Kunz & Devine, LLP. In 1996, Ms. Dolin received her BA cum laude from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts and, in 1999, received her JD cum laude from Albany Law School. Ms. Dolin has been an active member of the Capital District Women’s Bar Association since 1999, serving on several committees, as a member of the Board and as an Officer. Ms. Dolin lives in the town of Bethlehem with her husband Tom Dolin, Jr. and their two children, Connor (6) and Caroline (3).

2nd Vice President: Jill Alicia Gruben is the managing member of the Gruben Law Firm, PLLC, located in Malta, New York, which focuses on labor and employment, intellectual property, corporate consultation, estate and civil litigation. Ms. Gruben graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with an accelerated degree in journalism in 1996 and from New York Law School in 2000. After graduation, her primary practice was in telecommunications and intellectual property law. Prior to starting her own firm, Ms. Gruben was associated with Martin, Shudt, Wallace, DiLorenzo & Johnson for five years and handled all phases of commercial, estate and civil litigation and arbitrations and acted as labor counsel for community colleges throughout New York State. Ms. Gruben is a member of the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Employee Benefits and its Committee on Government Employee Labor Relations Law. For two years she was a delegate and co-legislative committee chair for the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York. Ms. Gruben was this chapter’s legislative chair for four years and its treasurer for thee years. Ms. Gruben is the recipient of CDWBA's 2006 "Outstanding Young Attorney Award." She is a member of the Steering Committee for the Brandeis Baruch Society of the United Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York and the editor of Chepontuc, the newsletter for the Glens Falls/Saratoga Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK). Ms. Gruben is admitted to practice law in New York, the U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York; New Jersey; and the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. Ms. Gruben resides in Ballston Spa with her husband, Michael Rubinstein, a senior principal consultant with Keane, Inc., and their son Adam.

Recording Secretary: Susan Dautel has served as Assistant Deputy Clerk at the New York State Court of Appeals since 2003. She is involved in the Court's administrative and operational work. Ms. Dautel re-joined the Court staff after 16 years in private practice, and as a founding partner in 1989 of the Albany firm of Deily, Testa & Dautel (later Deily, Dautel & Mooney, LLP). She previously served the Court of Appeals from 1981 to 1986 as Central Staff Attorney, Deputy Chief of Central Staff and Deputy Consultation Clerk. Ms. Dautel lectures periodically on Court of Appeals practice and procedure. She has been a member of the CDWBA since 1981, serving in 2008 as Corresponding Secretary and on its Board of Directors. She is on the Executive Board of the ABA's Council of Appellate Staff Attorneys and was recently selected as one of eight finalists for the United States Supreme Court Fellows Program. Ms. Dautel has been active with Habitat for Humanity's international arm. She volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region. She is a graduate of Bucknell University and Albany Law School, and lives in Clifton Park where she enjoys the intermittent residencies of her two college-going daughters.

Corresponding Secretary: Yvonne Hennessey was recently named a partner with The West Firm, PLLC and is chair of the firm’s public integrity practice. She graduated from SUNY Geneseo and received her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law. She served as confidential law clerk to the Honorable Frederick J. Scullin, Jr. and the Honorable Norman A. Mordue in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. Following her clerkship, Ms. Marciano was an associate with LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene and MacRae and Of Counsel to O’Connell and Aronowitz, P.C. Ms. Marciano represents commercial and industrial clients. She served as co-chair of CDWBA’s Membership and Breast Cancer Awareness Committees. She is co-chair of the New York State Bar Association Environmental Law Section’s Task Force on Legal Ethics. She also is actively involved in the Federal Court Bar Association. Ms. Marciano resides in Clifton Park and will be married this September!

Treasurer: Karen Simons is Senior Counsel for General Electric Company’s Corporate Properties and Services Operation. She oversees legal support for all of GE’s Canadian real estate operations. She is a member of GE’s Ecomagination task force working on greening GE’s leases. Ms. Simons received her bachelors of arts degree from Colgate University in 1987 and her JD from Albany Law School in 1993. She is a board member and the immediate past president of the board of directors for The Workshop Inc., a not for profit that empowers people with disabilities to remove barriers to employment. Ms. Simons is a teacher in the Shenendehowa Advocates for Gifted Education Program and a lecturer at local high schools for the Credit Abuse Resistance Education Program. In 2006, Ms. Simons was awarded the GE Corporate Citizenship Award in recognition of her volunteerism and board activities.
